The Wacky Wagon Thread Co. pledges to help ranchers and farmers impacted by Hurricane Harvey
During the month of September, a Colorado graphic apparel company will donate 15% of its graphic thread profits to the Texas Department of Agriculture (STAR) Fund.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Yoder, CO – September 1, 2017 – The Wacky Wagon Thread Co. announced today that the brand will donate 15% of its profit from graphic apparel sales to the farmers and ranchers who are suffering at the hands of Hurricane Harvey.
The charity where funds will be given is the Texas Department of Agriculture’s STAR Fund. STAR Fund is a state operated charity where donations will be used to assist farmers and rancher in rebuilding fences, restoring operations and paying for other agricultural disaster relief.
“I am heartbroken to see the devastation happening in southeastern Texas, especially among farmers and ranchers who have spent a lifetime trying to build what Harvey has destroyed in one fell swoop” says Jolene Hamilton, Wacky Wagon Founder. “As a rancher’s daughter and consumer, I know I need to do my part to lift these folks up, and I want to give my customers the opportunity to do the same”, she explains.
“Every day, we depend on farmers and ranchers to provide our families with the healthy food and warm clothes that sustains our lives, and now is the time for Texas producers to lean on us. This is not a hand out, rather it’s a helping hand. I hope my fellow farmers and rancher will take advantage of these funds if you need them” explains Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller.
The Wacky Wagon will track donation amounts and update its followers via social media leading up to the deadline. Funds will be donated to STAR Fund on September 30, 2017 @ 8:00pm MST via Facebook Live.
